Science and D&D – unite!

EYES!

Science is awesome. We can all agree with this. Roleplaying is also awesome. So what happens when you combine the two together? Levels of awesome the result in a paper written!

Using the power of monsters from Dungeons and Dragons – 12 year oldĀ Julian Levy helped his science dad write a paper explaining tracking gaze-copying behavior using those weird multi-eye monsters in the bestiary!

This isn’t just for fun though, this research is really rather important. As it says in the article the research done is important for looking into autism:

It might also help to explain why people with autism often fail to make eye contact with other people, and which parts of the brain are responsible.
