Well, CroTeam have been warning us for weeks, but finally they’e gone and done it! Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope has been released – or shall we say unleashed? – upon the unsuspecting public.

I’ve played some Serious Sam on this channel before, but this is the first time I’m going to be able to truly get behind the The Man Himself and do some mahem.

Star Destroyer Flyby on the HTC Vive

This is something I’ve been putting together in my copious spare time. I’m trying to teach myself Unity so I can develop for the Vive, and not just play on it, and this is the first thing that actually works!

All I really wanted to do was find out what it was like to actually be near a Star Destroyer – and now I can!

Basically all I did was take a model from scifi3d.com and make sure the normals were pointing the right way, and then apply a skybox. And somehow, it all worked!
